Face To Face

Face To Face
Anita Mondragon

We, Christians hear all the time that we need to have a relationship with Jesus.  We have all heard the Great Commandment…”To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.”  Why is this so important?

First of all, we are called the Bride of Christ.
If we treated our marriage relationship the same way we treat our relationship with Jesus…there would be a divorce!   Most of our conversations with the Lord, consist of what we need Him to do for us.  We rarely ask the question…”What can I do for YOU Lord?”

If your marriage is based solely on the memories of your wedding day, you are missing out on the intimacy of true love.  The same holds true of our relationship with God.  If we only dwell on the day we came to KNOW Him through salvation…we are forfeiting a wonderful, trusting life with him on a daily basis!

Just as your wedding day to your spouse was only the beginning…so it is with the day you accepted Jesus as your Savior.  That was just day one!  There is MORE…much more!  Shellie Rushing Tomlinson puts it this way in her book called Heart Wide Open, and I quote: “Our birth in Christ is just that, a divine starting place without a finish line.”   …”This God Man isn’t meant to be a PART of our lives; He IS our life.”

How do we find this ‘sweet spot’?  We “ask and keep asking.  We seek and keep seeking, we knock and keep knocking.”  WE CHASE AFTER GOD. -(Shellie)

The more time you spend with Jesus will cause you to WANT-TO do His will.  You will WANT-TO please Him.  Your broken want-to will no longer get in the way.  Why?  Because you’ve given the brokenness to Him…and He has changed you!

I close with this quote from Shellie: “God doesn’t want to be the Great Spectator of our lives.  He desires to live life with us, in us, and through us, and then to take us home….  Our Father wants to see us enjoy our lives and make merry.  He just wants us to make merry over the right thing…over the Real Thing.  His name is JESUS!”

Hello, Anita. Shellie here. 🙂 Google sends me notifications when my name is used online, so that’s how I found you just now. Clicked over out of curiosity. It’s a blessing to “meet” another believer running hard after this Jesus of ours and encouraging others to do the same! Hugs!
