You Alone!

By Mark Hays

You Jesus alone
make me whole

You alone
filled the hole my sin dug

You alone
are my righteousness

Your blood and sacrifice alone
has saved me from the pit
and restored me to the Father

YOUR APPOINTMENT

By Anita Mondragon

Two weeks ago, my son had an eye appointment for his annual checkup and most likely new glasses.  One day before the appointment, they texted me and said his appointment had been changed.  It wouldn’t happen until two weeks later. We had changed our schedule around to the appointment time and now had to change things again.

On the day of the changed appointment, we again received a text asking if we could come in sooner because the doctor was leaving early and would not be available at the scheduled time.  Otherwise, we were going to have to reschedule the appointment for a later time.  So once again, we had to change our plans for the day in order to make the needed checkup.

NO ROOM, NO TIME…

By Anita Mondragon

There always seems to be room in life,
For pleasures, and parties, and fun;
But still in life, Jesus has no part…
There is no room for the Son!

There’s always room for gossip and lies,
And dreams of lust and ambition;
But there’s never enough time to search the heart,
And notice it’s sad condition!

There is always room for overtime,

LOST NO MORE

By Anita Mondragon

I wrote the following poem in April of 2009.  It was inspired by the old hymn, “The Ninety and Nine.”  I was that lost sheep until Jesus found me!  -Anita
****

LOST NO MORE

There’s an old song sung,
Where a story is told,
Of ninety-nine sheep,
Who were safe in the fold.

But one lamb was lost,
It had gone astray;
Up on the mountain…
In the hills far away.

So, the Shepherd went looking

DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

By Anita Mondragon

Back in the ’60s, I protested the Vietnam war.  I stood with my friends, held signs, and chanted along with the voices of outrage.  MY protest was the death of many of my classmates that occurred during that violent time in our history.    I looked up the life expectancy of a private soldier, and here’s what I found… The following is an account from :

Al Nolf, former Senior Chief (E-8) at United States Navy (1968-1989)
I served three Combat tours in Vietnam. ’70-71, ’73-’75 including Operations Eagle Pull, Frequent Wind, and Baby Lift, the evacuation of Saigon. Extraction.

Army Helo pilots came to duty as Warrant Officers with a 45 minute life expectancy. They were told so when they signed up.

Woman of Faith

By Marc Hays

She knows her Lord and Savior
she talks with Him
pleas with Him
puts her trust in Him
she seeks the Lord in all matters
She prays for strength
to be strong
for those she loves
She strives
fully and selflessly
for those she loves
She hopes
and seeks the best
for those she loves
She sacrifices
to lift up

DUMP THOSE OLD ‘FILES’!  PUT ‘EM IN THE CLOUD!

By Anita Mondragon

Back in 2006, the modern term of ‘cloud computing’ really took off. Old paper files became a thing of the past and now virtually everything is put in the cloud. This clears up a lot of space for the important things.

I had to look up that term to get its full meaning. Here’s what I found… Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage and computing power, without direct active management by the user.
I really began thinking about the Spiritual connotation to this concept…especially the last part. You see, I have an old file cabinet I need to get rid of! You know the one I’m talking about…it’s the one in the back of my mind. You probably have one too.

Mine is full of folders that are decades old.

THE RED SOLUTION

By Anita Mondragon

Just off I-70, here in Colorado, stands a warehouse turned dispensary called, The Green Solution.  Its very name suggests that whatever ailment you possess…they have the solution …the cure for all of your problems.

However, their solution is only temporary.  It only lasts for a short while.  Once the effects of the drug, Marijuana wears off, your problems are back and as big as ever.  Your anxiety is still there.  Your depression…still there.  Loneliness?… Yep!  It’s still there.

So if I could have a moment of your time, I’d like to talk to you about The Red Solution.

A WALK IN PSALM 23

By Mark Hays

I’ve walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
Been in situations where I couldn’t catch my breath;

Had fears, like shadows, follow me wherever I go
Searched far and wide for something to ease my soul,

Until one day I found this Shepherd, a man from Galilee,
Who said leave everything behind and follow Me;

BORN FOR THIS…

By Anita Mondragon

How many times have you heard someone say, “I was born for this!”?  I know I’ve said it a time or two myself when I found out I was good at something.  Folks have even written songs pertaining to this very subject…  Remember, “Born To Be Wild”-Steppenwolf, released in June of 1968?  If you remember the 60’s, I believe almost everyone thought they were born to be wild.  But there was another man born for a greater purpose about 2,000 years ago!

I was watching a movie the other night.

One Response to “Forgiven- A Daily Devotional”

  1. Anita says:

    What a great prayer! As Believers, this is the kind of stuff we should be seeking God for on a daily basis!
    Thanks for the reminder sister Francine!
