HAVE YOU LOST YOUR SONG?

by Anita Mondragon

It seems that the world is in chaos.

Just a few short weeks ago, life was normal.  Everyday folks got up and did the same old thing.  Each day was just another day in paradise.

We got up at the same time, took showers, got dressed, grabbed a bite to eat on the run, dropped off the kids at school or daycare, got stuck in traffic, and finally made it to work just in the nick of time.  Some of us loved going to our jobs…most of us did not!  But we went nevertheless because it was the “norm”.

Then the virus hit. It didn’t seem so bad at first-not until thousands started to die.  Then fear began to grip our hearts.  Government officials started to mandate “Stay Home” orders.  It was nice at first.  Let’s face it…we all needed a change of pace, but the cost was too great.

Now, we find ourselves longing to get out.  We feel like a caged bird.  The normal life, no matter how hectic it was seemed to be calm.  We now find ourselves in a storm!

The worry of unemployment looms.  The bills keep piling up.  The grocery shelves in the sulpermarkets are bare.  Life as we know it has changed overnight.

Believers have something to hold on to.  Those that do not know Jesus are merely existing in fear…  They have no hope.

We as Believers must remember that praise is the weapon of our warfare.  We must keep the song in our heart.  We must sing out to our Creator in praise, and trust Him to keep us at this time.

Remember the story about the walls of Jericho falling down?  You can read about it in 1 Samuel 17; verse 47 says, “…for the battle is the Lords…”  When the people shouted unto the Lord, and blew their trumpets…the walls fell down.

Right now, Covid19 represents the walls in our lives.  We need to shout in prayer, daily and ask God to make these walls fall.  We need to sing praises to our God out into the atmosphere.  We need to go on Social Media and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ…blow our trumpets and tell of the Salvation of the Lord.

We still have a song to sing…a message to tell!
