In Church, last Sunday, the Pastor asked for prayer requests.  Many of us raised our hands and gave the request, others were quiet, but had unspoken things they needed prayer for.  Some requests were for relatives having surgery…others were for friends that had been hurt, and after the initial doctor visit, were told they may have cancer.  We as a group prayed for these individuals, then, and there.  I’m sure that many, if not most of us continued to pray for them during the week as well.

I know the person that had surgery, pulled through!  The person that was told they may have cancer, has since been told they are fine and all is well!

I guess my point is this…PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!!!

This morning, I drew a promise from my little box of “God’s Promises.”  It’s something I inherited from my parents…about 65 years old now.  It’s just small cards, with Scripture verses, and sometimes a small little poem to go along with the verse.  All of these verses are promises from God’s Word.  When my parents were going through rough times, they would draw from this box, and receive encouragement to trust God at His word, and continue to have faith even though the situation seemed impossible!

The promise I drew today said this:

He is able to do exceeding abundantly above ALL that we ask or think.  Eph. 3:20

The little poem underneath, said this:

“O Master, let me walk with Thee in lowly paths of service free; Tell me Thy secret, help me bear the strain of toil, the fret of care.”-unknown

When we call on God in prayer, not only asking…but BELIEVING…God hears us and is pleased.
