KEEP YOUR EARS ON!

It’s 6 am and I watch an ambulance drive away from my neighbors house. We live in a retirement community, no sirens, so nobody else knows what’s going on. God prompts me to go to their house. Lord, I really don’t know them. Again He prompts me. As I knock on the door a woman in her 80’s answers. I don’t even know her name. I introduce myself, she let’s me in and you can see the worry in her eyes. Her words were, I can’t even go to be with him, we go everywhere together. I find out Fred has cancer and they’ve been married over 60 yrs. I ask her if I can give her a hug, which she welcomes. I then ask if I can pray for her. I pray just a simple prayer, I see tears begin to form as she thanks me and replies, that’s just what I needed. She was waiting to call her son in Ohio because she felt it was to early to break the news. God reminds me at that moment as Christians, we are responsible for our fellow man even if it makes us uncomfortable. We don’t have to worry about what we will say or do, all we have to do is be obedient to His voice, He will do the rest. As we exchange numbers I also find out they need minor work around the house which I volunteered my husband. Thank you Lord for not only giving me the ears to hear your voice but the obedience to act on what you tell me to do. Please keep Jae, my new friend and Fred in your prayers. And, keep your ears on!
