MEMORIES…

Read:  Ecclesiastes 12:1-7

We are to remember our Creator in the days of our youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”-

This passage speaks of growing old.  Read it.  I can relate to many things in there already.  If you can’t yet…believe me…you will!

Mike and I were sitting out on the patio this morning, drinking our coffee, and enjoying the birds, and flowers.  There was a gentle breeze blowing…cool and quiet.  It was very refreshing to the spirit!

Mike had his iPad out there as well, and was listening to Canciones De Mexico…Songs of Mexico, (for all you non-Spanish speaking folks out there!)  We were both enjoying the music, and remembering things from days gone by.  The music stirred different thoughts for both of us, even though we were listening to the same song.  He was remembering his younger days, when he grew up in San Luis, Colorado.  I was reminiscing my days as a Missionary in Mexico.  We both shared a few tears for what we lost in those years…but the memories were good for the most part.

We need to remember our mistakes…so we don’t repeat them, but if we KNOW Jesus as our Savior, we don’t have to wallow in the past.  HE picked us up from the miry clay, and put our feet on a solid rock, and HE established our goings!

So…don’t be afraid to take a walk down memory lane.  Remembering is good…it keeps us on the right path, and makes us thankful in our hearts to Jesus for all that HE has brought us through!
