12-01-2013 SUN (Rom 3 1-8) The Arguments Against the Religionist1.) WHAT PROFIT IS THERE IN BEING A JEW, A RELIGIONIST? (ROM. 3:1-2)

a.) He is privileged
b.) He is entrusted with and made responsible for God’s Word (Jn. 5:24, 6:63, 68; 8:51, 15:3, 20:31; Rom. 15:4; Eph. 5:26; 1 Pet. 1:22; 1 Jn. 5:13; Ps. 119:9; Prov. 6:23, 14:34)

2.) DOES UNBELIEF VOID GOD’S PROMISES? (ROM. 3:3-4)

a.) “God forbid”
b.) God’s Word stands even if every man is a liar
c.) God will prove His word
d.) God will overcome those who judge Him and His Word (Mt. 5:18; Lk. 21:33; 2 Tim. 2:13; Ps. 111:7; Rom. 2:2; Ezk. 12:25)

3.) IS GOD UNJUST IF HE TAKES VENGEANCE? (ROM. 3:5-8)

a.) “God forbid”
b.) God is moral: He must judge the world
c.) The contradiction of such an argument
d.) The damnation of persons who argue this point is just (Jn. 3:16; Rom. 5:8; 2 Cor. 5:21; Gal. 3:13; Eph. 5:2;
