he WANTS MY TONGUE!

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. -Isaiah 59:19

….NO! I didn’t make a mistake on the title of this blog…I purposefully did not capitalize the first word, he.  he doesn’t deserve the dignity it implies. I know you’re confused now…so read on….

WORDS UNTO THE LORD-5

By Anita Mondragon

Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.  Isaiah 37:1

In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.  Psalm 18:6

PUNCH HIS LIGHTS OUT!!!!!

By Anita Mondragon

We watched a movie last night, called, “Southpaw”.  It was written by Kurt Sutter. Here’s what he had to say about its origin.

Sutter’s script follows a welterweight boxing champion (Eminem) whose life is upended when tragedy strikes…“In a way, this is a continuation of the 8 Mile story, but rather than a literal biography, we are doing a metaphorical narrative of the second chapter of his life. He’ll play a world champion boxer who really hits a hard bottom, and has to fight to win back his life for his young daughter. At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy. I love that the title refers to [Eminem] being a lefty, which is to boxing what a white rapper is to hip hop; dangerous, unwanted and completely unorthodox. It’s a much harder road for a southpaw than a right-handed boxer.”…the real-life element adds a nice layer to the drama.

HE’S GOOD!!

By Anita Mondragon

I was a little on the sad side yesterday…just going through some personal things with kids.  I guess it showed all over my face when my husband arrived home.  I couldn’t even share what I felt at that moment.  He understood, and did not press me.

OUCH!

By Anita Mondragon

For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. –Romans 10:23

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.-Matthew 23:25-28

THE BOOK

By Anita Mondragon

11Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.…

Revelation 20: 11-13

JUST AS YOU ARE…

“But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?”

WELLS OF PURPOSE

By Anita Mondragon

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])

10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”  John 4:7-10 NIV

LAY THEM AT THE CROSS!

By Anita Mondragon

Are you struggling today?  Instead of quiet, peaceful moments…do you find yourself full of anxiety?  If so, I have two promises to share with you.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it, and are safe.  Proverbs 18:10

Be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.  I Chron. 22:13
