Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.  Isaiah 37:1

In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.  Psalm 18:6

Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible

And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it…

“He took the letters from the hand of the messengers, and read one of them;”

…in which was the blasphemy against God; this he read over carefully to himself, observed the contents of it, and then did with it as follows:

And Hezekiah went up unto the house of God; the temple, the outward court of it, further than that he could not go:

and spread it before the Lord; not to read it, as he had done, or to acquaint him with the contents of it, which he fully knew; but, as it chiefly regarded him, and affected his honor and glory, he laid it before him, that he might take notice of it, and vindicate himself, and avenge his own cause; he brought it as a proof of what he had to say to him in prayer, and to support him in his allegations, and as a means to quicken himself in the discharge of that duty.

I wrote a bunch of these at a time of testing.  They were things we were going through, and I was too distraught to say them in prayer…so I wrote them down, and laid them out on the floor before the Lord during my prayer time.  The following was #5. -anita

  1. Deliver me from the pit dug for me by my enemies Oh Lord! 2. They set traps, then wait for me to fall.3. They laugh and sneer saying, “Where is your help now?” 4. I hear their whispers and incantations against me.  They hound me like barking dogs in the middle of the night. 5. When sleep and peace should come, I am hindered by their constant noise. 6. Deliver me Oh God! 7. Let their false accusations against me be revealed to all those that hear, and let them be shown to be in the wrong! 8. Avenge me Oh God for your namesake! 9. For I am your child Oh Lord; a joint heir with your Son, Jesus. 10. I have been washed by His blood, and am therefore  righteous in your sight. 11. No harm from any man or demon can come neigh me, for You are near Oh Lord! 12. Salvation and help comes from you.  I shall not be afraid!
