Two weeks ago, my son had an eye appointment for his annual checkup and most likely new glasses.  One day before the appointment, they texted me and said his appointment had been changed.  It wouldn’t happen until two weeks later. We had changed our schedule around to the appointment time and now had to change things again.

 

On the day of the changed appointment, we again received a text asking if we could come in sooner because the doctor was leaving early and would not be available at the scheduled time.  Otherwise, we were going to have to reschedule the appointment for a later time.  So once again, we had to change our plans for the day in order to make the needed checkup.

 

All of this reminded me of a verse in the Bible in Hebrews 9:27, it says “it is appointed unto man once to die, and after this, the judgment.”

 

You see, God Almighty has scheduled your appointment to meet Him. This appointment WILL NOT be rescheduled. He won’t change it and neither will you. You won’t have and extra two weeks. You won’t have a minute longer.  When He sends the Death Angel, you will not have time to change your plans.  You must get things in order now so that when He calls your name, you will be ready to go!

 

That is why the Bible also says, “TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION…NOW IS THE ACCEPTABLE TIME!” – 2 Corinthians 6:2  You WILL keep your appointment!. 

 

 But look at the rest of the verse in Hebrews.  It says, “…and after this, the judgment.”  Your entrance to Heaven will not depend on your good works…the nice, kind things you did while here on earth.  Your entrance to that peaceful place will hinge on ONE thing…WHAT DID YOU DO WITH JESUS?  Did you receive his free gift of salvation?  Did you ask Him to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins?  Did you ask Him to save you and take you to Heaven when you die?  If so, then you will enter.  If not, Jesus Himself will say, “Depart from Me, you worker of iniquity…I NEVER KNEW YOU!” -Matthew 7:23

 

There is no warning…no text…no phone call regarding your appointment time with God.  All you can do is, be ready when He calls your name!
