YOUR PRESENCE

By Anita Mondragon
Where can I go from Your Spirit?  Or where can I flee from Your  presence?  If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.  If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,…even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.  Psalms 139:7-10

When things are sad, and dark the way,

When shadows ’round me fall,

I look deep into the darkness,

And I feel the need to call;

To call Your name, and cry out to You…

And though I cannot see,

I feel Your presence in the dark,

I know You’re close to me!

Sometimes, I call while in the light,

When everything is going right;

When all is well within my world,

And Satan’s darts aren’t being hurled.

I know You are there in those times as well,

But I feel the need to shout and to yell,

That at times, I yearn for the darkness to come…

Then I’ll call out Your name,

And I’ll hear You run…

Close to my side, I’ll feel You there…

No more worry…no more care.

Your presence I choose in the dark with me,

Instead of being alone in the light, where I can see.

I’ll let your hand guide me, though  dark the way…

Your presence I need…Lord Jesus…please stay!
