I love to watch this show called, Home Town!  A husband and wife team that live in Laurel Mississippi wanted to clean up their town after hurricane Katrina hit a few years back.  He’s a master woodworker, and all around handy man; and she is the designer.  It’s amazing at how they have restored many, many houses in their town!  Houses that the city wanted to knock down, houses that have been empty for decades.  Ugly.  Rotten. Critter infested. Weeds growing inside.  Houses in total disrepair!  But when they get done with them, they are brand new.  Beautiful.  Restored to their first estate!

 

As I was doing dishes this morning, God reminded me of how I was before He found me.  Like the devastation Katrina caused in the town of Laurel Mississippi, the storms of life sent by Satan had done damage in my life that seemed unrepairable!  I was ready for the trash heap.  My soul had been empty for decades.  My past was ugly.  The rot in my soul had tainted my whole being.  I was infested with sin.  Weeds of hate and bitterness grew like wild fire inside of me.  I was in total disrepair…

 

But then, the Master Builder found me!  He remembered the blueprints…the way He had intended me to be.  He began knocking down the walls inside my heart, and opened the dark places so that His love could shine through.  He tore out the stained, broken, things in my life and brought in new things to replace them.  Many of the scared items, He lovingly ‘re-worked’.  He picked up the pieces and made a beautiful piece of artwork.  My life is no longer the same!  I’ve been remade, reclaimed, restored, REDEEMED!

 

Jesus can do the same for you!  

 

If you feel your life has been wasted and you’ve lost all will to go on living…COME TO JESUS!  He’ll make you over.  He’ll make you new!  Just try Him once, and you’ll see…
