SING YOUR PRAISE TO THE LORD!

By Anita Mondragon

I wrote this a few years back…

This morning, I stood at the open door of our house, seeing my husband off to work. As I waved and threw kisses, I noticed how crisp and clean the air was as I gulped in the goodness of God. The sun was just peeking over the horizon, and the distant farmhouse became a silhouette against the blazing orange! As if that were not enough for my eyes to behold, the birds in the near-by trees burst into song like a glorious choir. One lone Turtle Dove sat perched on the neighbor’s roof and began cooing his praise like a solo part. That’s when I was reminded of some verses in Psalm 150:1-6 They say:

Hallelujah!
Praise God in his holy house of worship,
praise him under the open skies;
Praise him for his acts of power,
praise him for his magnificent greatness;
Praise with a blast on the trumpet,
praise by strumming soft strings;
Praise him with castanets and dance,
praise him with banjo and flute;
Praise him with cymbals and a big bass drum,
praise him with fiddles and mandolin.
Let every living, breathing creature praise God!
Hallelujah!

Today isn’t Sunday, and I know that some of us think that church is the only place to worship…while we sit in the house of God, but the above verses say to “praise Him under the open skies for His acts of power and greatness.”

The fact that I was able to observe and be a part of that glorious site this morning made me say aloud, “Sing your praise birds! Praise YOU Jesus! YOU are so awesome!”

LET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE THE LORD!
