Apples Of Gold

By Anita Mondragon
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord… -Psalm 19:14

Am I the only one out there that has trouble with words?  Words fly out of my mouth like bats out of a cave!  Sometimes, they are sweet, kind, appropriate words…words that encourage and edify the ears they fall on.

However, at other times, I must admit, I shock myself at the words I hear coming from my mouth.  They are venomous…oozing with hate and anger.  They are anything but pure!  They are downright UGLY!

The above verse tells us that our words need to be acceptable in the sight of God.

In another passage of Scripture, it says this:

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. -Proverbs 25:11

My prayer for today is this… “Lord, put a guard at the door of my mouth!  Let me put Your Word in my heart so I won’t sin against You today with my words!”
