WHY CAN’T I FORGET

By Esther Hernandez

Genesis chapters 37-47 tell the story of Joseph, Jacob’s 11th son.  Joseph was favored by his father Jacob and his brothers were jealous.  They mistreated him, talked about him, hated and rejected him.  They even sold him to a caravan of Midianite merchants going by in the field where they were.  Joseph landed up in Egypt.  But Joseph trusted God even in the strange land where he was.  In Genesis 41:51 he named his first son, Manasseh, because God helped him forget all his trouble and all his father’s household.

Sometimes we can’t forget because we don’t fully accept or receive all that God has done for us in bringing us back to Himself.  Isaiah 64:6 says all our righteous acts everything good we’ve done are like filthy rags.  We forget what God has done for us in giving us life, redemption and forgiveness of sin – past, present and future. GOOD INTENTIONS

By Anita Mondragon

I was just making our nightly cup of coffee when I busted out laughing. My husband yelled from the living room, “what’s so funny?” I yelled back, “if you’re ever looking for the Milano cookies, you’ll find ‘em right next to my SlimFast carb cutter pills!”

Oh my gosh! no wonder I can’t get rid of this weight!

That happened last night. It was funny at first, but then I looked at it in a Spiritual light, and it wasn’t so amusing then.

You see, I have this secret place where I hide things…so we don’t overeat. It’s my secret stash of goodies…my place of indulgence. But God showed me that I do the same thing in my personal walk with Him. We all have a place like that. We have good intentions, but sometimes the flesh gets the best of us and instead of reaching out to God in prayer, we go ahead and do things that please the flesh. Read more…

MY JESUS

By Michael Mondragon

“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift!” -2 Cor. 9:15

If I could leave one thing to you,
Riches of this world, just would not do.

A beautiful home would be so nice…
But security and money would not suffice.

So, if I may…I give to you
The gift of Jesus, to see you through!

WHAT’S IN YOUR ALABASTER BOX?

By Anita Mondragon

“Cast all your cares upon him, for he cares for you.”  1 Peter 5:7

Remember the story of Mary Magdalene in the Bible?  ….

Jesus was invited to the home of Simon the Pharisee for dinner.  Simon no doubt wanted to boast of his religious purity.  The presence of Jesus was only requested so that he could later tell his friends that Jesus had been his dinner guest.

But, as God would have it, a prostitute showed up…uninvited!  Most of us know the rest of the story…. Read more…

YOUR APPOINTMENT

By Anita Mondragon

Two weeks ago, my son had an eye appointment for his annual checkup and most likely new glasses.  One day before the appointment, they texted me and said his appointment had been changed.  It wouldn’t happen until two weeks later. We had changed our schedule around to the appointment time and now had to change things again.

On the day of the changed appointment, we again received a text asking if we could come in sooner because the doctor was leaving early and would not be available at the scheduled time.  Otherwise, we were going to have to reschedule the appointment for a later time.  So once again, we had to change our plans for the day in order to make the needed checkup. A WALK IN PSALM 23

By Mark Hays

I’ve walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
Been in situations where I couldn’t catch my breath;

Had fears, like shadows, follow me wherever I go
Searched far and wide for something to ease my soul,

Until one day I found this Shepherd, a man from Galilee,
Who said leave everything behind and follow Me; Read more…

BORN FOR THIS…

By Anita Mondragon

How many times have you heard someone say, “I was born for this!”?  I know I’ve said it a time or two myself when I found out I was good at something.  Folks have even written songs pertaining to this very subject…  Remember, “Born To Be Wild”-Steppenwolf, released in June of 1968?  If you remember the 60’s, I believe almost everyone thought they were born to be wild.  But there was another man born for a greater purpose about 2,000 years ago!

I was watching a movie the other night. Read more…

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS LIKE THE PERFECT JAR OF JELLY…

By Anita Mondragon

I’m sure you’ve heard the statement, “Life is like a box of chocolates…”  Well, I’m here to tell you that the Christian life is like a jar of jelly….

There’s a promise in the Bible that says: “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil.  He shall preserve thy soul” -Psalm 121:7

Did you notice?  It says from ALL evil. Read more…

HOME

By Anita Mondragon

I was talking with one of my cousins the other night and found out that another cousin of mine had passed away.  I was shocked and sad in my heart at the news.  As we spoke, I was reminded that we should rejoice, for she was a believer and just went home to be with the Lord.  She is no longer sick or in pain.  She has seen the face of our Dear Redeemer!  This conversation reminded me of something I wrote back in 2014….  It goes like this, and it’s called,  HOME. UNTIL LAMBS BECOME LIONS…

By Anita Mondragon

As I watch movies, the Lord really speaks to me and gives me a Spiritual perception as to what is being said.  I was watching a Robin Hood movie yesterday.  At one point, he and his men were going to go against the evil sheriff of Nottingham.  He made this statement to bolster the men in their resolve-for they were few in comparison.  He said, “Rise and rise again until lambs become lions.”

Immediately this brought a Scripture to mind. Read more…
